Yes that is my name…… I'm real busy in work now so having the bank holiday
weekend will be a godsend. The link for today relates to Australia and the fact
that we are all going there within the next year or so. http://www.irishinsydney.com/
. there doesn't seem to be alot of activity on the new chat board…so get a
move on lads and sign up, i'll even send you a private message. Have a good one
y'all and remember don't be sad; because Rosie is scooping ice for the third
summer running listining to the se excrutiating noises from those shitty
rides like Hurricane, Gravitron and then there is the dreaded kiddy rides
noises and the even more dreaded carousel noise.
Kilkenny Rules ……..I think
Well after a brilliant weekend (from what I can recall anyway) it's back to hard
graft again. thnak again to Frank for suggesting the get away. well worth it
even if I have a few moments that i cringe about..one being when I fell down
the step from the jacks onto a couple who were jsut sitting there having a nice
quite drink and I fell all over them spilling all their drinks, what a fuking
idiot, I'm even getting embarassed now thinking about it. ah well a good one
all round though..Pity Dave couldn't come or is it a pity i don't know.
Football Tournent
We are having our third and fourth match in our Intel 6 a side tournent today
so we are all anxious to win these as that means we are automatically through
to the semi-finals. Come on PLS. I in the middle of writing my work-term
report now for DCU so that is keeping me busy. It isn't due for another 2
months but there is no harm in being prepared. The daily intra journal really
helped while writing the report. You too can have a look at it here :> http://intra.philroche.net/
OOooops I’ve been slacking
Well an update, Last night I went to the Dogs in Harolds cross with work which
was great fun, but I was down €15 in the end, the biggest loser of the night
was €60 so I wasn't too bad. Update on the XP front….done boom sya…. I now
have Windows 98, Windows XP and Suse Linux 7.3 on the se 70GB machine spread
over 2 disks (one of which has 2 partitions). I can now boot into Linux or
Windows from a menu and then if I choose windows I can choose XP or 98.
Impressed, I was. I think XP is a great OS from what I have seen so far…and
frank you can get away from all the Butterflies and back to the normal windows
look and feel. I now have to try and get office xp and some other develoent
software from work so that I don't have to buy any of it. What a geek I am and
I am proud of it.
I have two great sites for you….
http://www.sobleedinwha.com/
is absolutely hilarious and then there is http://www.dvdrentals.ie/
where you can rent DVD's for as long as you want.
Ryanair, Microsoft and Microsoft
First:I forgot to mention how impressed I was with Ryanair when i flew with them
last week. The turn around time of the planes was phenomenal and every thing
ran smoothly, I will definitely be using them again and for ˆ26 from manchester
to Dublin who can complain?.Second:Microsoft, I bought the Microsoft Wireless
intellimouse Explorer today in PCWorld. All the boxes had ˆ89 on them but there
was one box with ˆ49 on it. I took it up the the till and he said that it cost
ˆ89, I pointed out to him the price on the label and he promptly took ˆ40
off…..Sweet Deal. It's a brilliant mouse, Optical which means no more dirt
slowing it down like the conventional mice. All in all I very pleased with
my Purchase.Third:Microsoft again. I intent to put Windows XP on my machine
next week some time. I just got a Boot manager up and running today which lets
me choose which operating system i want to use when I boot up (Windows 98 and
Suse Linux for now). When all is done I'll have three operating systems on the
one machine with two harddisks totalling 70GB, Next move will be to get some
more memory another 128MB (bringing it to 256MB). All very Geeky i know but
interesting for me!. Links for today are:Mutibooting with Windows XP : microsoft.com/windowsxp/

Pocket PCs rule
I hope to be working on a project developing web pages and appliactions that can
be used on Pocket PC's. Here is a good link to a helpful site regarding Pocket
PCs http://www.pocketpcdn.com/sections/pie.html
and also try here http://www.microsoft.com/mobile/pocketpc/default.asp
. Many people seem to think that a Pocket PC is the se as a PDA (personal
digital assistant), This is not the case, Pocket PCs run a cut down version of
windows called Pocket PC 2002 operating system , something similar to Windows
CE. It can run cut down versions of word, excell and internet explorer
(commonly known as Pie[pocket internet explorer]). I've been looking around for
a Pocket PC but I never have the balls to get one as i have to save for
australia, but rest assured I will have one soon and I can't bleedin wait.
