Sup y’all NZ here I come

Hey ho, I'm in Adelaide at the moment in the YHA. We fly off to New Zealand early tomorrow morning so this is our last day/night in Australia… I'd like to say to all involved that I have had a wonderful time, both working and travalling and general living in Sydney.

Since last post we have toured Melbourne, visited Phillip Island, driven the whole of the "Great Ocean Road" staying in some really nice places and seeing all of the sites (all on camera) and toured Adelaide…. all wonderful and lots of fun.

My camera did have a little upset after being dropped in the sand (not me). The lens wasn't opening so I took it to some cemera shops who all said it would take at least 2 weeks to get fixed ( I had 2 hours ) so I went to the hardware store and bought some precision screwdrivers, took it apart, blew here and there, brushed a few places, put it back together and hey presto it worked. Mt warranty is now invalid but I have it insured so I can still rest easy if anything else happens to my baby.

My posts have been pretty slack of late but as I am travelling around, that much is understandable, Redbrick seem to have moved the webserver yet again and it also seems that ImageMagick did not follow all the other webservices so uploading to the gallery will not be possible untill that is fixed. Anyway have a great time and thanks for all the fun in OZ…. untill next time (in NZ in a new campervan) sya….

Grand Prix

The Grand Prix was great, Schueeey ran away with it again as usual. We were allowed on the track at the end which was great, got loads of photos. We went around Melbourne yesterday , the museum which was great, federation square, yarra river, southbank for dinner and on to the casino where we one $150 which paid for the day. Tomorrow we're off to Phillip Island (definitely photos of me by that sign 🙂 ) to see the penguin parade and then after that we start off on the great ocean road…. so till next time….sya.

My ears hurt…

We went to the second day of the Fosters Australian Grand Prix, Absolutely amazing, The cars are soo loud. Tomorrow is more practice and then qualifying, And then the big race on Sunday.. I can't wait. Schueyy smashed his own course record on his second practice lap.

I haven't told y'all about our campervan, We originally booked a normal campervan but the people that had it before us didn't show up, so we got a bush camper (4 drive wheel campervan ) It's not as big inside but it's great  otherwise. 4.2 litre diesel engine. arrr arrrr arrrr!!!!!!!!. Having the iBook is great as we can watch DVDs which is glamour. Anyway I'll update again soon.

Travelling

We've started our travels now, we are one day away from Melbourne now and the Grand Prix, I can't wait, I'll update more when I get a chance. Cya

Browser City

Currently installed on my iBook, for testing and for fun:

  1. FireFox
  2. Firebird
  3. Mozilla
  4. Camino
  5. Safari
  6. Netscape 7
  7. Opera
  8. OmniWeb
  9. Internet Explorer

That's alot of browsers ?. My default is Firefox but I have been using OmniWeb(5 beta) which is really nice. I also like Opera 6 (7 is not released for Mac yet). It's nice to see all these different browsers competing as it means that they are always trying to be better which is good news for developers like me as it means they will comply to standards. 🙂

Aggreg8 Stats and Soluveb

Hey Ho,
We are finally beginning to get our heads around having to live with diabetes (after all If Gill is on a special diet it means that I am too). Plenty of blod glucose monitor and needle gadgets to play with which is cool.

Over the last week I have been working on my Soluveb.com website which is essentially my way of getting web work. It's looking pretty well with valid XHTML1.1 and valid CSS. Check it out and if you know of anyone who needs some development done, drop me a line.

After seeing how many hits Aggreg8 has (184904) I decided to set up a stats page, It is a madified/tweaked version of MyPHP Stats. It's interesting to see what people are looking at and where they were referred from.

With my new hosting provider I can set up Add-On Domains, My mate (and flatmate) Al now has a website : nalakeogh.com, At the moment it is just his CV/Resume. I also have MyOggs.com hosted there.

I'll try to post more as work should start to slow down now with only 2 weeks left (who am I kidding).

Learning about Diabetes

Hey Ho cronies, I've not been updating lately as I have been v busy in work and also this weekend after a week of Gill being fairly ill, we decided to go to the doctor, who sent us to the hospital where after blood checks, it was found that Gillian has Type 1 Diabetes. We were quite shocked and it is still a bit awsome and overwhelming. It's a very weird condition as there is no way of perventing it and no way of predicting whether you will get it or not. Anyway, just to let y'all know why I haven't been in contact. I'm off to learn more about Diabetes now. One great thing about it is we'll have to start eating healthier now.

Weather isn’t always great!

philAs you can see the weather isn't always great in Sydney. This picture is taken on a day out at Watsons Bay. There was lightning too but I couldn't get it on camera, That would have been a great pictures eh?. I've been really busy lately with work and personal stuff too. I've found a really good (so far anyway) hosting provider [http://www.ivaluehost.net/]. This is where I will host Soluveb and it's clients webpages. I got a shared account (Standard) with upto 8 domains for US$5.95 a month, that's with 250MB Storage and 10GB bandwidth. It was a really nice admin section (CPanel). I am still waiting for the DNS entries to filter out. If it works out I might even move Philroche.net over there. Anyway Sya… Only 1 calendar month left in work wooohoooo!!!!.
